We welcome you and your children to our church. It is the goal of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church to provide a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment for your child. We also want you to feel secure about your child’s well being while you attend services and activities at Good Shepherd. We feel that we accomplish this goal in two ways.

  • We provide you, the parent, with the information you need to know about our nursery program: how it is run, the guidelines that we have crafted to ensure a safe environment, and contact information you may use to have your questions answered.
  • We provide your child with an environment that is safe for them. Your child is encouraged to explore the room – it is properly childproofed. The room will also be properly staffed to ensure that there is always enough individual attention paid to your son or daughter.

The following guidelines will answer most of your questions as well as introduce you to the policies that we have put in place to safeguard the children. Your understanding and cooperation are deeply appreciated.

Pastor Pat Badkey,
Director of Congregational Life

The nursery is outfitted with some of the best and past favorite toys of our growing child members. While we do update the nursery and toys periodically, donations of new or gently used toys helps keep our nursery fresh and up to date for the kids. Thank you to all who remember us while cleaning out their toy room or making plans for toys after birthdays.

In addition, it is helpful to have volunteers to support our paid staff.  If you are interested in helping in the nursery, please contact our Childcare Coordinator, Chris Jarman at

A professionally-staffed nursery is available from 8:00AM to 12:15PM every Sunday for children up to age 5.

Here is a summary of the policies that we have adopted to provide a safe environment for your child. Each entry in the Quick List has a more detailed explanation in the 'Nursery Guidelines For Parents' brochure located in the nursery and the lobby.  Click here to view brochure.
