Devotionals

Devotionals are short essays written by GSLC members and staff that explore the ways the Holy Spirit works within our every day lives.  There are several ways we invite you to use these devotionals:

  • Make them a part of a prayer practice - read a devotion and consider the ways that Christ has worked similarly in your life or works in unexpected ways.
  • Make them a part of a journaling practice - read a devotion and journal about what the Holy Spirit is stirring in you as you reflect on the essay.
  • Use them as a reminder that God works in all things, the bad and the good.

With over 400 available devotions, you can use these daily, weekly, or monthly.  It's up to you!  We just hope that by reading these inspiring stories provided by Good Shepherd's flock you are able to better see where Jesus is present in all things!  Thank you to all of our members that have provided devotionals throughout the past couple of years!

Matthew 28:16-20

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Have you ever thought of yourself as an evangelist?  Someone who shares God’s good news with others?  We can witness to our faith through both our words and our actions.  Which way are you more comfortable with?

As a church family one of the new ways we have begun to share the good news is through providing our worship online.  One of the (few) good outcomes from COVID.  Being online allows people who may not live in Cincinnati, or who may not otherwise be connected to our church, to hear the good news as they watch a worship service.

We are so committed to continuing to share our worship and other ministry programming online that we created a staff position dedicated to doing so.  Scott Puthoff began his work as our full-time Director of Online Ministry last December.

It is because of your generosity that we are able to deepen this commitment to our work as evangelists.   As we approach the end of the fiscal year (August 31) we encourage your end of the year financial gifts as a way to ensure that we will continue to grow as evangelists in the year ahead.  To help tell you the story of our online ministry here is a link to a video we shared as a part of worship in May.

If you would like to make an end of the year gift to our ministry you can bring your check with you to worship this weekend, or if you are someone who benefits from our online ministry you can donate here:  Donate

Thank you for all the ways you support our ministry.  Together we are the body of Christ.  Together we go out into the world to share the good news.
