Please know I am praying for you and for our ministry together. These are challenging days, but I hope you are finding some of God’s peace and love in the midst of them. I also encourage you to continue your Vine Time each day, either by using these daily devotionals, watching (again?) our worship videos from this weekend, or some other practice that is meaningful to you. I also encourage you to continue to reach out to each other, and to be diligent in your prayers for the healing of our world. This past week I had the joy of being included in an email chain the Monday Morning Work Crew was circulating as a way to check in with each other. Several of the members indicated that they had been working on various projects at home as a way to pass the time. A few of them talked about woodworking projects they were doing. In his email, Dean Matz said this about the project he was working on (see picture) “ I occasionally work to make “something” out of “junk”. So, I finished a small night stand/writing desk made from an old (vintage 1930’s ) pair of sawhorse legs and a top made from wormy chestnut (again reclaimed from somewhere).” Dean’s work and comment struck me not only as great stewardship, but it also seems to speak to faith. Isn’t our understanding of redemption and resurrection that God takes something that could be considered “junk” (our sinful selves), and reclaims it for “something” beautiful? This is the story of our faith. God reclaims us, remakes us, refinishes us, and redeems us. God will never leave us for junk. The woodworking Jesus does starts in the form of a cross, from which we have all been reclaimed. God is good. Have a peaceful day. God loves you. Second, this is making me hum "You make beautiful things, you make beautiful things out of us" (see lyrics and maybe it will help others, too- it's a song of hope and redemption as you said, Pastor Heidi). https://www.google.com/search?q=you+make+beautiful+things+lyrics&oq=you+make+beautiful&aqs=chrome.2.0j69i57j0l6.5700j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 (LINK) God's blessings to all. 3/23/2020 9:43 PM Reply to Leave a comment Name: Please enter a name.
