Event date: 4/8/2020 Export event Pastor Alex Hoops / Wednesday, April 8, 2020 / Categories: Publications, Daily Devotions Daily Devotion April 8, 2020 It’s Holy Week and truth be told… It feels more important than ever. I missed participating in Holy Week last year because I had come down with a case of the flu. Turns out I had come down with BOTH flu strains and it was followed closely by a case of pneumonia! To have to call out sick on Holy Week, as a pastor, was pretty awful. I was excited for this year! I was excited to get to join everyone in singing the songs and hearing the story. And it looks like I’ll be missing out on that again this year. But you know what? I think this year we are really getting at the heart of what this week is all about. Hearing the story is critical, yes, but WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH IT?! On the first Easter, Christ revealed himself to his followers and in the coming days instructed them to GO and TELL the story to everyone! Let the whole world know that he is ALIVE! He is risen! This year we aren’t just going to hear the story at church and head home to our families. The message will come to us through email, through video, through Facebook and all the other ways we are communicating. And this year, we have an opportunity to not just hear the message and reflect on it with our immediate family, we can LITERALLY share it! Click the share button! Send one of our links to a friend or family member! Invite someone to watch it with you over the phone! It may seem silly or trivial, but truly, THIS is one of the ways that the Word is getting around during these times. This year, I hope you will “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” (Mark 16:15) Peace, Pastor Alex Previous Article Daily Devotion Next Article Daily Devotion Print 8153 Rate this article: No rating Leave a comment Name: Please enter a name.
