Psalm 119:105 In this time of a life-altering pandemic, anxiety, and distress, it's difficult to see anything good coming from it. But feeling a need to enrich my study of scripture, I planned a daily time, first thing in the morning, for just that. First, I gathered resources and set up a designated comfortable spot for my morning time with God. For me, the key was creating a new pattern. Then, I began in the New Testament, one chapter each day, using these resources: insights and comments relating God's word to everyday life written by a present-day Christian author, next reading that chapter in my Bible finally reading the Moody Bible Commentary verse-by-verse explanation of that chapter. This in-depth study of the Bible, one chapter at a time with verse-by-verse explanations has increased my understanding and given me a closer relationship with God. I look forward to this time devoted to my faith each morning. Born of the pandemic, something very positive has been added to my life.
