Good Shepherd Lutheran Church / Friday, October 30, 2020 / Categories: Publications, Daily Devotions Daily Devotion Our devotions written by Good Shepherd members will resume next week, but this week our daily devotions will take a different approach as we focus on Hunger in conjunction with our NEEDS food drive. Each day we will watch a short video from ELCA World Hunger that will help us gain a better understanding of the extend of poverty in our world, and ways that the ELCA is trying to improve the lives of those trapped in poverty. Today’s video takes us to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Reformation Lutheran Church. Reformation was 112 years old when they sold their church building so they could relocate in a neighborhood with families they could directly serve. In this video you will learn about the ministry they are doing with young parents. Watch the video here and then reflect on the questions below: Video Link One of the leaders in the video pointed out that to be a church or have a ministry doesn’t require “a steeple”. How have you observed Good Shepherd’s ministry continue even when we can’t access our building. If Good Shepherd sold our building and moved closer to the people we wanted to serve, where do you think we should move? Do you think it is easier to share the Gospel if at the same time you are also helping to meet someone’s needs?
