Devotionals

Devotionals are short essays written by GSLC members and staff that explore the ways the Holy Spirit works within our every day lives.  There are several ways we invite you to use these devotionals:

  • Make them a part of a prayer practice - read a devotion and consider the ways that Christ has worked similarly in your life or works in unexpected ways.
  • Make them a part of a journaling practice - read a devotion and journal about what the Holy Spirit is stirring in you as you reflect on the essay.
  • Use them as a reminder that God works in all things, the bad and the good.

With over 400 available devotions, you can use these daily, weekly, or monthly.  It's up to you!  We just hope that by reading these inspiring stories provided by Good Shepherd's flock you are able to better see where Jesus is present in all things!  Thank you to all of our members that have provided devotionals throughout the past couple of years!

Helping Young Adults Grow in Faith

Ephesians 3:16-21
16 I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.

18 I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God

.20 Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

This is among my favorites passages from Paul’s writing.  It packs a lot of power, hope and possibility, and I find it very encouraging.  At Good Shepherd we have a unique mission to help form faith in College students through our Edge House ministry near the UC campus in Cincinnati.  One way we could describe that ministry is a hope that our students are being “rooted and grounded in love”.  When you support Good Shepherd you are a part of that rooting and grounding in love.  We will never know the full impact of our ministry at the Edge, but here is Macy to tell her story of what that ministry has meant to her.  Edge House ministry

It’s not too late to make an end of the year gift to Good Shepherd.  The office is open M-W, 9am to 3pm this week and on New Year’s Eve until Noon.  You can drop off your gift after hours in our secure mailbox on the bench outside the front entrance.  It must be at the office by Noon on 12/31 to be counted with this year’s offering.  You can also give online today, using this link.  Donate thru Realm

Thank you!  Your generosity in support of our mission has been amazing this year.  You are a blessing.
