Good Shepherd Lutheran Church / Wednesday, January 13, 2021 / Categories: Publications, Daily Devotions Daily Devotion Faith5: Talk Getting to connect and chat with folks during COVID has been hard. Thankfully, we have been given all sorts of resources like telephones, tablets, computers, and the people in our own homes that can help to temper the potential feelings of isolation. However, even before COVID, in busy enough seasons we could find ourselves only talking about tasks, schedules, and our expectations. We could basically skip over talking about anything regarding matters of the heart or soul. That is why the 3rd practice of the Faith5 is to talk. We SHARE our highs and lows, we READ some scriptures, and then we TALK about it. The easiest thing to do is to talk about the reading you just completed. What did it mean to you? What part of it was significant? Did you notice any connections to your own story? It can be hard sometimes but with continued practice we recognize that the scriptures are alive! They speak to present struggles and situations in deeply meaningful ways. As it says in Hebrews 4:12: 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Today, SHARE, READ, and TALK. Set up a phone call or set a time in your home with your family. It’s important work!
