Good Shepherd Lutheran Church / Friday, January 15, 2021 / Categories: Publications, Daily Devotions Daily Devotion Faith5: Bless This is my last devotion of the week and It is my sincerest hope that you have been blessed by this the practice of the Faith5. It has been such a gift to my household that I feel confident it can multiply its blessings in your home. Blessings are perhaps my favorite part of worship and prayer. The idea that we are sending God’s care and love and encouragement into the world, knowing that God goes with it, is amazing to me. Genesis 12:1–3 The Call of Abram Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and pin you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” After talking with someone and connecting with them in prayer, it is a beautiful practice to end that holy time with a blessing. Just like we conclude worship. I will send you this day with a blessing that we use in our house. We sing a little song of blessing. We make the sign of the cross on one another’s head while we sing these words. May the lord bless you and keep you May the lord cause his face to shine, shine upon you See him smile at just the thought of you May he rule in every part of you And peace be with you.
