Event date: 3/18/2020 Export event Good Shepherd Lutheran Church / Wednesday, March 18, 2020 / Categories: Publications, Daily Devotions Daily Devotion March 18, 2020, Wednesday Our devotion today is a prayer that I invite you to pray with your family, or if you are living alone, can you call someone and pray this prayer with them? Of course, it’s also perfectly fine to pray this alone, during your VINE TIME. Full disclosure—I borrowed this prayer from the Pastor at Hope Lutheran Church in West Des Moines, Iowa. BUT we can make it our own as you add your own prayer requests, or the names of specific people you are praying for, in the comments. Gracious Lord God ... We pray for the sick, and those who provide for their care. Heal and protect them. We pray for those who've lost income, and those who aren't sure how they'll pay for their next meal. Surround them with generous friends and neighbors. We pray for the merchants who wonder if they'll ever be open for business again. Give them hope. We pray for all the faithful churches who depend on Sunday offerings when there are no Sunday offerings. Provide for them. We pray for those with jobs that can't be done from home, and all who put themselves in harm's way for the sake of others. Keep them safe. We pray for our leaders close to home and around the world. Give them wisdom. We pray for those who are alone and isolated. Bless them with the kindness of another and a keen awareness of your presence. We pray for the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. Put a wall of protection around them. We pray for those who struggle with anxiety or depression. Give them your peace. We pray for the residents of this world suddenly wandering through a wilderness filled with uncertainty. Open our eyes to see this season will not last, but your love and your promises are forever. In Jesus' name, AMEN. (Please add your prayer petitions or names of those you are praying for in the comments.)
