“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” — Matthew 18:20

Good Shepherd provides a vareity of adult faith formation and fellowship opportunities because we know that the road to becoming a disciple of Jesus is a life-long pursuit.  Whether it is a walk in the woods, monthly book club, or pilgrimage in Spain, you can expect to find something to help you connect with God and others at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Adult Connect (aka Adult Forum) is a weekly Faith Formation opportunity where adults can connect with The Word and find spiritual growth.  Participants can expect to hear lectures, participate in small group discussions, or take part in an all-church cross-generational activity.

Adult Connect happens each Sunday at 10 am (concurrent with Kids Connect, between the 9 am and 11 am worship services).

Here is a run-down of what will be happening in the Adult Forum at 10am in room 100 on Sundays in October.

  • October 3 and 17 - we welcome Pastor Andy Tune,  Pastor to the University at Wittenberg in Springfield, OH.  He will be teaching on “Luther-From Monk to Reformer,” on 10/3 and “Luther’s Teaching and Legacy” on 10/17.  Pastor Andy received his M.Div. and M.Th. from Luther Seminary, and his Ph.D. in Theology from the Catholic University of America.  Besides serving as a campus pastor at Wittenberg, he has also taught religion courses there and at other schools and church settings.  Currently he is working on a book on the science-faith dialogue.  He is an avid walker, hiker, and appreciator of God's beautiful creation.
  • October 10 - we will use our forum time to welcome Kevin Seal as our new Director of Worship and Music.  Grab a snack in the lobby and head into room 100 to help welcome Kevin and learn more about him.
  • October 24 - Pastor Alex Hoops will be leading this day on the topic of Luther’s Teaching on the means of grace.  Come and learn more about the ways God’s promises tangibly touch our lives in bread, wine and water.
  • October 31 - Reformation day!!!   We are planning something for the whole congregation this day at 10am.  Be sure to brush up on your Reformation trivia and be ready for some fun snacks.  Please note this is also Confirmation day for our 9th graders.  Their rite of Confirmation will happen at the 11am service that day.
