For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. — Matthew 18:20

Good Shepherd provides a vareity of adult faith formation and fellowship opportunities because we know that the road to becoming a disciple of Jesus is a life-long pursuit.  Whether it is a walk in the woods, monthly book club, or pilgrimage in Spain, you can expect to find something to help you connect with God and others at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Confirmation

After Tweens, students are offered the opportunity to become confirmed members within the Lutheran faith.  The two-year program covers a wide-range of topics including the Bible, history on the Lutheran faith, and workshops on special topics or questions.  These workshops, such as the "Tough Questions of Faith" series, are a time that youth (and parents!) can explore questions like "Is Evolution Real?" or "Is God a Man?".

Confirmands also create a "Faith Masterpiece".  This capstone project of the Confirmation program is a way that students can show off their creativity while talking about their faith.  From writing computer simulations to creating a new song, students can tailor their project to their interests and abilities.

Parental involvement in Confirmation is the key to its success.  There are lots of opportunities for parents to be involved, including volunteering at workshops or during retreats.  Parents are also encouraged to continue their faith-based conversations at home to help their children through the Confirmation process.

Confirmation meets each Sunday at 10 am in the Lower Level Room 002/003.

For questions about Confirmation or if you'd like more information about the program, contact Pastor Pat Badkey at pbadkey@goodshepherd.com.
