“Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray.” — Proverbs 22:6

The road to discipleship starts at home for many of us.  Good Shepherd is committed to providing spirtual practices and faith formation resources to help children and famlies discern God's presence in their daily lives.  It is through a vareity of worship options, faith formation and fellowship events, and service opportunities that families build community and friendships and learn to share the light of God with the world.

Family Worship is a 30-minute service that takes place each Sunday at 10 am in our Fellowship Hall.  While it is designed with smaller children in mind, all are welcome to this service.

Family Worship leans into taking moments to both engage and educate families about a traditional Lutheran worship service.  Children have opportunities to serve as communion assistants, ushers, or greeters.  If a skit is being used to tell the story of the day, families can sometimes help with acting out or reading the story.  The interactive nature of the service helps familiarize young children with worship and encourages them to find ways to help bring worship to others.

Music for Family Worship also plays a big part in the service.  Songs are taught to families during the service and are easy enough for all to participate.  Children are encouraged to move, dance, and jump around during the songs.
