Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise.  The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music. — Martin Luther

Good Shepherd knows how integral music is to our lives.  It prepares our hearts and minds for worship.  It recalls memories of weddings or funerals.  It lifts us up.  It helps us take on the day ahead.  Ultimately, it brings us into closer relationship with God.

Good Shepherd is blessed to have a wide range of musicians that are willing to share their talents with our community and help us provide a vareity of styles of worship.  From traditional hymns and organ to the latest Christian-pop with guitars and drums, Good Shepherd has a style of worship and music that will speak to you and your faith.

Praise Team and Victory Singers

Contemporary Worship has two formats for singers to share their gifts and make joyful noise:  Victory Singers and Praise Team.

Each Praise Team consisters of three singers, with each Praise Team taking turns singing at worship services.  Good Shpeherd has six rotating Praise Teams.  Praise Teams lead the congregation in song during Contemporary Worship on Sundays at 9 am.  Praise Team rehearse Wednesday nights from 6 to 8 pm during the Contemporary Worship Music Practice.  Teams only practice if they are scheduled to sing for Sunday Contemporary Worship.

Victory Singers are a choir with a membership of around 15 singers.  They share their musical offerings during worship services several times per month.  The Victory Singers rehearals are on Sundays at 10 am (immediately following the 9 am Contemporary Worship Service).

Additionally, several members of the Victory Singers and Praise Team provide soloists throughout the year during worship services.

If you have interest in sharing your gifts of singing with the congregation at Contemporary Worship, reach out to Ken Holdt, Contemporary Music Director.
