Music

Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise.  The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music. — Martin Luther

Good Shepherd knows how integral music is to our lives.  It prepares our hearts and minds for worship.  It recalls memories of weddings or funerals.  It lifts us up.  It helps us take on the day ahead.  Ultimately, it brings us into closer relationship with God.

Good Shepherd is blessed to have a wide range of musicians that are willing to share their talents with our community and help us provide a vareity of styles of worship.  From traditional hymns and organ to the latest Christian-pop with guitars and drums, Good Shepherd has a style of worship and music that will speak to you and your faith.

Share Your Love of Music with Others

Being a part of a musical group offers the opportunity for community, artistry, and most important, spiritual growth.  Here are a few different ways that YOU can become involved in our music ministries:

  • Good Shepherd Chancel Choir:  Sings at 11 am, generally the first three Sundays of the month, and rehearses each Wednesday night from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  Please contact Director of Worship and Music Dr. Kevin Seal at kseal@goodshepherd.com or 513-891-1700 ext. 117 for questions or details.
  • Good Shepherd Chancel Ringers:  Our Handbell Choir plays at 11 am, generally the last Sunday of the month, and rehearses Monday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  The Bell Choir is a great way to learn about music, like reading and count music.  If you are looking for a fun group that is learning on the way, this is your group!  No experience in handbells necessary - you can learn as you go!  Please contact Director of Worship and Music Dr. Kevin Seal at kseal@goodshepherd.com or 513-891-1700 ext. 117 for questions or details.
  • Good Shepherd Victory Singers:  Sings at 9 am, generally once per month, and rehearses each Sunday morning at 10:10 am.   Please contact Director of Contemporary Music Ken Holdt at kholdt@goodshepherd.com for questions or details.
  • Good Shepherd Children’s Choir:  Our seasonal Children's Choir meets several times a year to sing at festivals, such as Christmas and Eater.  Please check back later for an update on when they'll starting meeting for Christmas Eve rehearsals.

Do you play an instrument?  You can also share your talents by playing in the Praise Team or festival ensembles.  Contact Director of Worship and Music Dr. Kevin Seal at kseal@goodshepherd.com or 513-891-1700 ext. 117 for questions or details.
