“Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift

of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music.” — Martin Luther

Good Shepherd knows how integral music is to our lives.  It prepares our hearts and minds for worship.  It recalls memories of weddings or funerals.  It lifts us up.  It helps us take on the day ahead.  Ultimately, it brings us into closer relationship with God.

Good Shepherd is blessed to have a wide range of musicians that are willing to share their talents with our community and help us provide a vareity of styles of worship.  From traditional hymns and organ to the latest Christian-pop with guitars and drums, Good Shepherd has a style of worship and music that will speak to you and your faith.

As we return to in-person, indoor worship, we are in need of people to support our worship services.  Here are the different volunteer opportunities we are currently seeking to fill:

Ushers:  These folks are the first line of friendliness that visitors may see at GSLC.  They help with getting people seated, collecting the offering, holding cup trays during communion and cleaning up the sanctuary of any left items after worship concludes.  If you have interest in ushering, contact Pastor Heidi Johns (

Communion Assistants:  These volunteers help serve communion during worship.  Mainly, communion assistants help pour the wine, but also may help with the bread as well.  Contact Pastor Heidi Johns ( if you'd like to serve or want more information.

Altar Guild:  These folks prepare communion before and clean-up communion after worship.  Contact Pastor Heidi Johns ( if you'd like to serve or want more information.

Livestream Video Tech:  Livestream video techs run our sanctuary worship cameras during worship services to provide online worship.  Training provided.  This is a great opportunity for people interested in video production, film, or photography.  Contact Scott Puthoff,, if you have interest in volunteering.

Musicians:  Musicians play a vital role in worship!  We are always looking for people interested in sharing their musical talents with our congregation.  If you'd like more information about playing during worship, you can contact Ken Holdt ( for our Contemporary Worship Service and Deacon Debbie Jones ( for our Traditional Worship Services.
