Outreach

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your

good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is able to commit 25% of our Annual Budget to outreach because of the generous support of our membership.  It is the reason we can faithfully support the mission of organizations like the Haitian Timoun Foundation, the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, and the Edge House (our campus ministry on the boundary of the University of Cincinnati).  If you’d like to donate to our mission, CLICK HERE.

God's Grace Your Hands

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the denomination that GSLC is a part of, hosts and annual weekend of service called "God's Work Our Hands".  Participating congregations set-up service projects in their community to share the grace of God with their neighbors.  On September 8th, 2019, GSLC did things a little differently.  Instead of a day of service, GSLC handed out checks (with blank recipient lines) to members ranging in values of $100 - $500.  And what were the members asked to do?  To listen for how God is telling them to share this gift with others in their communities.  To read more about the program or the stories of being given or receiving the funds, click "Read More".

The Edge House

The Edge House is our campus ministry gathering place which is catty-corner to the University of Cincinnati (UC).  Our campus ministry serves the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati State College, and other area colleges and universities.  The Edge House is like the inn in the parable of the Good Samaritan: a place for reflection and revitalization on the Christian journey, a place for healing, a place of storytelling, and a place of transition. People of all denominations, faiths, and lack-of-faiths are welcome.
