Outreach

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. — Matthew 5:16

Good Shepherd is blessed to have a community that is dedicated to sharing the love of Christ with their neighbor through our active Outreach Ministry.  By earmarking 25% of our annual budget to Outreach, Good Shepherd is able to support a vareity of non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Haitian Timoun Foundation, Graceworks Lutheran Services, and Adopt A Class.  In addition to providing financial support, members serve at organizations such as Matthew 25 Ministries, Tikkun Farm, and Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank to provide the labor necessary to further their missions.  It is through the generous support of our congregation that Good Shepherd is able to touch the lives of so many.

Larry's Legacy & Heidi's Hand-Up

Thank you members of Good Shepherd for faithfully supporting Heidi’s Hand Up, the Joy of Reading and Larry’s Legacy.  Monetary gifts donated for Heidi’s Hand Up will be used to support literacy, a cause close to Pastor Heidi’s heart.  All gifts will be used to buy books for children at Taft Elementary, both for them to own and take home and books for the new library.

Monetary gifts donated to Larry’s Legacy allow Good Shepherd to help individuals who are going through a critical time in their life when they might need extra financial support because they are starting over or an unexpected circumstance has arisen.  Gifts from Larry’s Legacy are meant to empower the recipient so they can move forward.

If you wish to give to Heidi’s Hand Up or to Larry’s Legacy both boxes are NOW located outside of the main door of the sanctuary.  The boxes are clearly marked but if you have trouble locating them just ask a pastor or an usher for help.  Thanks, Good Shepherd for supporting these ministries, they make a difference.
