Martin Luther famously said: “next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise.” His love of music created a tradition that values its unique role in spreading the Word of God and encourages all people to participate in sharing it.
Good Shepherd continues in that tradition today. Music plays an important role in our worship services, and our choral and musical groups provide you with a place to develop & share your musical gifts with others.
I serve as the Director of Worship & Music at Good Shepherd. I am thrilled that you are taking the time to learn about Music Ministry at Good Shepherd!
Ken Holdt (Director of Contemporary Worship) and I are passionate about the impact that music can have in our worship and our spiritual lives. Whether we are celebrating the birth of Jesus through the music inspired by Christmas, or remembering Jesus’ journey to the cross by singing the songs and hymns of Holy Week, here at Good Shepherd we invite you to lift up your voice in song! It is our strong belief that music has a unique and special ability to draw people closer to God and provide us with food for our spiritual journey.
