Expand your appreciation of film through great discussion!
This year’s theme: Stranger Than Fiction. All of the films are worthy of discussion, to be sure. At the same time, there is something unusual about these movies. They are sometimes a bit off the beaten track. They may be a bit eccentric......they may seem a bit strange.....at times, they may even be more than a little......weird......in a good way......
This month’s film: A Ghost Story (2017)
C and M are a couple in love. They live together in a small, modest home in a seemingly rural area. M wants to move, but C wishes to stay put. The matter remains unresolved until one day, when fate changes everything. C is killed in a tragic car accident; M is forced to identify his body at the local morgue. Is this the end of the story? Hardly.... This movie is a tale about love, loss and the time it takes to address our feelings about the end of relationships. A Ghost Story relies on images as much as dialogue, with a highly creative timeline that is worthy of inclusion in this particular film discussion series.
